Thank you for your recent request received 28 December 2013 which was actioned under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in which you requested the following information

Please will you kindly tell me what the (a) gender and (b) familial relationship was to the child victim of offenders in substantiated child abuse cases in the area which you have a duty to protect children from abuse for the last full year which figures are available, broken down by (i) physical abuse, (ii) emotional abuse, (iii) sexual abuse and (iv) cases of neglect.

Response:

Liverpool City Council does not hold the information you have requested but can confirm the following:

The information you have requested is not held by the City Council. As such we are unable to provide any information as we do not hold any

However, the City Council can confirm that the information is held by Merseyside Police and, in accordance with the City Council’s obligations under Section 16 of Freedom of Information Act 2000, which places a duty on Local Authorities to provide advice and assistance, so far as it would be reasonable to expect the authority to do so, to persons who propose to make, or have made, requests for information to it, we can provide the following contact details for Merseyside Police should you wish to contact them independently
