Subject: FOI request - David Mortimer

Dear Mr Mortimer,

Thank you for your information request dated 28 December 2013. Your request has been dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The specifics of who the perpetrator is in cases of substantiated abuse is not recorded in a way that we can report on. We would need to look up each case individually and read through various ‘free text’ sections on the child’s record.

The request doesn’t specify a time period but there have been nearly 900 such cases in the last 12 months. Under s12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 the Local Authority does not have to comply with a request for information if it would take 18 hours or more to locate, retrieve and/ or extract the information. It has been calculated that 900 records at 10 minutes each would take 150 hours.

Regards

Tony Smith
